Impact: Catches a missed or failed defrost upstream of the temperature excursion it would cause — turning a would-be product-loss event on the case into a scoped controller or vendor action while the product is still good.

What it solves: A refrigerated case defrosts on a commissioned schedule, and a defrost that is missed, runs long, or fails to terminate is one of the most common controllable causes of a temperature excursion that is not a hardware fault — it ices the coil or holds the case warm past its recovery window. Keedian reads the case controller for the defrost cycle itself: it confirms a cycle started on schedule, terminated on its configured condition inside its expected duration, and that the case settled back into band after the suppression window. A Delay-After-Defrost parameter is treated as an alarm-suppression window, never as proof a cycle ran. Where the controller or added instrumentation exposes actual defrost start, end, duration, and case temperature, the add-on surfaces a missed, over-long, or unterminated defrost — and the abnormal post-defrost recovery it correlates to Temperature Recovery — as managed alarms routed to the customer's refrigeration vendor with a recommended action. Applies only where that defrost evidence exists.

What's included.

Defrost cycles are confirmed to start, terminate, and recover as commissioned per case, and a missed, over-long, or unterminated defrost is caught before it becomes a temperature excursion. Expected (pending validation).
