01 Executive Summary

Impact, and what it solves.

Impact: Ends the per-site manual reprogramming of exterior lighting — an astronomical clock and photocell hold each site's parking-lot, canopy, signage, and facade lighting to local daylight, so no location is burning energy after sunrise or left dark at dusk.

What it solves: Exterior lighting — parking lot, canopy, signage, and facade — is often on a manual time clock that drifts out of step with daylight after every seasonal shift, burning energy at dawn or leaving a lot dark at dusk. Across a multi-site fleet it can't be reprogrammed by hand every daylight-savings change, let alone for regional daylight variation. Keedian drives it from an astronomical clock and photocell per site, so each location's exterior lighting tracks its own local daylight automatically, with no manual updates for daylight savings or the seasons.

02 Optimization Metrics

The metrics you'll want to optimize.

These are the operational metrics this add-on monitors and alarms on. Keedian surfaces them and, where the contract includes managed service, triages them; acting on the physical asset stays with you and your vendors.

The core metrics are summarized below. Full methodology, thresholds, diagnosis steps, and escalation criteria are in the Metrics Catalog.

Each metric includes definition, detection logic, diagnosis steps, recommended actions, escalation criteria, and prevention controls. Thresholds are reference values to be calibrated per client.

03 Scope

What's included.

Exterior lighting follows local daylight automatically at every site across seasonal shifts, eliminating manual schedule updates and the drift that wastes energy or leaves a lot or forecourt dark. Expected (pending validation).

  • Astronomical-clock + photocell control of parking-lot, canopy, signage, and facade lighting, per site
  • Ad-hoc dashboard for exterior-lighting schedules and on/off state across the fleet
  • Reactive alarms on lights running outside their expected daylight window

The schedule-compliance alarms are managed on the same 24/7 basis as the rest of the contract — a site running exterior lighting through daylight or left dark at dusk is surfaced, triaged, and corrected or routed with a recommended action.
